I had nearly forgotten that, just in my backyard, so-to-speak, there is Madame Renaud Naturals. Based in Loveland, this natural body product company has grown in popularity (and products) over the past several years. They do a lot of business in local stores as well as online but recently they opened up an actual storefront next to their office right off 5th street here in Old Town Loveland. I've been in there a few times since they've opened and I'm always impressed by the range of products. I bought some interesting iridescent body sprays (again, all natural) which I gave as gifts, and some cool makeup. I tested their mineral make-up and I actually like it a lot better than the Physician's Formula stuff I've been using, which seems to be heavier. So if you're in Loveland, come visit Madame Renaud's. They have lotions, make-up, soap, products for dogs, kids...some cool ultra-light spray sunscreen that I think I might get, etc! And their packaging is quirky and fun. At least some of it is.
I popped by M.R. yesterday on the hunt for an acceptable facial cleanser. After using the Alba Botanica Pineapple Enzyme cleanser for a while, I've been dismayed at how increasingly pimply I've become! At first I wanted to blame it on diet (still a possible culprit, but maybe not the main cause) but then I noted the correlation between my increased hormonal-looking pimpliness and the use of the cleanser. I stopped using it a couple days ago. My skin hadn't cleared up from its recent abuse by the evil pineapple villian and when I went into M.R. I was greeted by a friendly lady who offered me numerous free samples of their skin care line. I went home with samples to last me a week. 'By then,' she said 'you should know if you like one of them.' This goes against my normal, compulsive habit of just grabbing something and winging it, shopping-wise. But I had to agree. I didn't want to spend money on something that would send my skin into a tailspin again.
So here's the crazy news...it's working! Literally after ONE use, I saw a huge improvement. I know this sounds like a crazy infomercial for Madame Renaud Naturals, but I really can tell a difference. I was breaking out all along my jawline, chin, cheeks, even forehead--which I haven't done as much since high school. And now...after using the Sandalwood Lemon Milk Cleanser once and the Aloe & Tea Tree Tonique once, I am flabbergasted to report that my skin is looking clearer and firmer and actually glowing a bit. I have yet to try the other samples given me: the lime and licorice root gel mask (wow, powerfully lime-y), the echinacea facial cleanser.
I am really hoping its effectiveness isn't some sort of cruel fluke! I'll keep you posted...
Yours,
Uncle Hannah
